Teen camps august 2026
Drawing Portraits
August 11 - 15 3pm - 6pm
This week-long camp is a deep dive into the art and craft of portrait drawing — built for teens who want to genuinely improve their skills, not just fill a summer schedule. Led by an experienced professional artist, campers will work through the core fundamentals that every strong portrait rests on: facial proportion and structure, anatomy of the head and features, light and shadow, capturing likeness, and conveying emotion through expression and gesture.
Each day builds on the last, moving from foundational studies to more expressive, personal work. Campers will practice observational drawing, work from reference, and get individual feedback and critique to help them see their own work more clearly and push past sticking points. By the end of the week, students will have a stronger eye, better technical control, and a finished portrait piece for their portfolio.
This camp is a week long and it meets everyday from 3PM to 6PM.
Needle felt your own cute character
August 17 - 21 3pm - 6pm
Learn how to shape wool fibers by repeatedly poking them with a felting needle (yes, it's as satisfying as it sounds) until they transform into a solid, sculpted form. You will then add fun details like eyes, ears, and tiny accessories.
Choose from a few fun character templates — think chubby unicorns, adorable rodents, or your own quirky original design — and personalize it with colors and features that match your vibe.
This class is all about creative freedom (and a little bit of chaos, in the best way).
This camp is a week long and it meets everyday from 3PM to 6PM.
Digital character design
August 24 - 28 3pm - 6pm
In this 5-day camp, students will learn the full character design process from a working game industry artist, in a small-group setting that means real, personalized feedback every day.
Students will explore silhouette and shape language, color theory for storytelling, expressive posing, and how to design characters that support gameplay and narrative — not just look cool. Each day builds on the last: starting with rough concept sketches and ideation, moving into refined linework and color exploration, and finishing with a polished final character sheet ready for a portfolio.
This camp is a week long and it meets everyday from 3PM to 6PM.
